Concept cars are display vehicles which demonstrate styling, design and/or engineering ideas.
Sometimes concept cars are used to gauge public reaction to innovation, or to test the viability of a vehicle in the marketplace. Concepts are also used by consultancies to demonstrate design skills to manufacturers.
Concept cars are sometimes built as fully-functioning prototypes, representative of a final production car, but usually they are intended only for static display.
