Centre point steering is a type of steering geometry used by cars such as the Citroën DS and Mercedes-Benz W123.
A car has centre point steering when the steering axis goes through the centre of the tyre/road contact patch. This is unusual – in most cars there is some ground level steering offset.
Centre point steering reduces steering kickback and minimises the effect of a flat tyre.
