Traction Control Systems (TCS) automatically reduce engine output to avoid wheelspin.
The traction control system monitors wheel speeds, usually using the anti-lock braking system sensors. When the system senses that a drive wheel is spinning faster than an undriven wheel it automatically reduces engine output until traction is restored.
