Jonathan Kershaw

Jonathan is a PhD student at Coventry University, researching the  socio-cultural values of the car and how this may impact upon the uptake of low carbon vehicles.

Jonathan Kershaw

Jonathan obtained a BSc (Hons) in Geography from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2006, and an MSc in Environmental Management and Sustainable Development, also from Manchester Metropolitan University, in 2007.

Jonathan is interested in all aspects of motoring, especially in the car as contemporaneous artefact, icon, signifier, liberator, convenience and occasional work of art. As a self-confessed 'tree-hugging petrolhead', this interest is coupled with an awareness and concern not only of the environmental impact of the car, but also of wider environmental issues.

He is a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and of the Triumph Dolomite Club. A keen quizzer, he is a member of two teams (a captain of one) in quiz leagues in the Rochdale/Greater Manchester area.
